New Beginnings of Northwest Hills Litchfield County is the Continuum of Care/Coordinated Access Network non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of managing The Gathering Place – a day-time drop-in center serving local homeless individuals, families, youth and veterans of Litchfield County since 2015. The Gathering Place is the “point of entry” for all homeless in Litchfield County and the centralized location to access all types of services and resources the homeless need to live more productive and independent lives. It is a place to come to visit year-round and to receive services to meet basic needs and resources such as the initial 211 Coordinated Access Network (CAN) intake; legal services; showers; laundry service; clothing; mental health services; substance abuse services and supported employment. We are committed to housing the homeless, promoting HOPE and NEW BEGINNINGS.

The mission of New Beginnings of Northwest Hills Litchfield County is to improve the quality of life of homeless individuals in Litchfield County, to provide referral services and advocacy, and to end the cycle of homelessness.

The staff operating The Gathering Place are volunteers from other service providing agencies who assist the homeless and their needs. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
